🗞 Top inspiration snippets
🇩🇪 Berlin & Germany
Latana, Berlin-based tracking and consumer insights platform, raised €31M. Careers.
Klim, Berlin-based agriTech startup, raised $6.6M seed. Careers.
CEEZER, Berlin-based ALL CAPS, ah sorry, carbon market startup, raised €4.2M. Careers.
tozero, Munich-based battery recycling startup, raised €3.5M pre-seed. Careers at the bottom of the page.
Valuecase, Hamburg-based commerce & onboarding experts, raised €3.5M pre-seed. Careers.
Enpal, solar startup featured in the job section of @handpicked exactly 4x until today, is expecting to quadruple their revenues in 2022. It’s business model is interesting; they rent out solar panels. More here. (🇩🇪)
On the other hand, things are not so rosy: as reported by layoffs.fyi the latest three company letting employees go are Artnight (26 employees / 36% of the workforce), Urban Sports Club (55/15%) and Smava (100/10%). No alumni pages.
Not a disaster, but HelloFresh was thrown out of DAX and moved to MDax 50. It was replaced by Berlin-based Siemens Energy. The only remaining Berlin company in DAX is Zalando.
An interesting r/berlin thread: “Berlin hidden gems under 10 euros”. You should definitely check it out, it is mostly food with a museum in between.
Last but not least, apparently up to 7cm big Nosferatu spiders reached Berlin. 😱 A non-event, but I still feel obliged to inform you hot to get it out of your apartment. (🇩🇪)
A proposal to pay for your flights only at the check-in is still alive (€, 🇩🇪). The airline CFOs, unsurprisingly, do not like it. Using a train as an alternative means you have a 50% chance of being late (🇩🇪). 😅
Sifted has a list of fintechs that did not raise fresh capital for some time. From Germany: Scalable Capital, Zego & Raisin. I cannot help myself: is Raisin raisin’?
🇪🇺 Rest of Europe & UK
Lightyear, Dutch solar-powered car startup, raised €81M. Careers.
Varjo, Helsinki-based hardware virtual and augmented reality company, raised $40M series D. Careers.
21.co, Zurich-based crypto startup, raised $25M. Careers.
🤓 Timeless and useful
Watch this video. I enjoy presenting and felt I am good at it, but still found many takeaways. For example, finishing a presentation with “questions?” or thanking the audience is a weak move. Yea! Finish with a joke.

Did you do it too? (via r/ich_iel)
This is a footer 🥦 for you. Broccoli can be an excellent side to a steak. After you finished frying the steaks, throw in the broccoli (cut in florets) in the same pan until almost charred. It will taste amazing. Anyway, hit that ♡ button if you read this.
